Dog & cat visual diagnosis · interactive atlas + course

See the difference.
Then prove it.

The GlobalVet Clinical Atlas puts the lookalikes side by side — skin, ears, eyes, mouths, lumps and slides — with the normal first, the deciding feature marked, and the test that proves it.

Why the usual way fails

Most misses aren't rare diseases. They're lookalikes.

Image searches don't line up

Different breeds, lighting and stages. By the time you find a comparable picture the consult has moved on — and you still don't know which feature mattered.

Pairs cause the costly errors

Lipoma or mast cell tumour. Nuclear sclerosis or cataract. Allergy or mites. Gingivitis or stomatitis. The decisions that hurt patients come from pairs that look alike.

A picture isn't a plan

Even a perfect photo doesn't tell you what to do next. Every plate here ends with the proof — the scrape, stain, aspirate, pressure reading or radiograph that settles it.

The GlobalVet method

Normal · Pattern · Proof.

One way of looking, used on every plate, duel, lesson and tool — so it becomes the way you examine.

STEP 1

Normal

Start with the breed and species normal — the merle iris, the primordial pouch, the Shar-Pei fold, the ageing lens — so a quirk never gets treated as disease.

STEP 2

Pattern

Name what you see: the lesion type, where it sits on the body, and the one lookalike it has to be split from.

STEP 3

Proof

Pick the test that proves it — cytology, scrape, stain, pressure, radiograph, biopsy or trial — and know when it's time to refer.

Describe

L.E.S.I.O.N.

Location · Element · Size · Integument · Outline · Number

Describe any skin or mucosal lesion the way a specialist writes it — in one clean sentence.

Lumps

M.A.S.S.

Measure · Anchor · Speed · Sample

Every lump measured, mapped and aspirated on the same rule — never called by feel.

Eyes

Tear · Stain · Pressure

Schirmer · fluorescein · tonometry

Every red or painful eye, in that order — the three numbers that stop the classic misses.

Mouth

P.R.O.B.E.

Probe · Radiograph · Oral tissues · Bite · Every finding charted

The oral exam that finds what's below the gum line, charted in modified Triadan.

Slides

C.E.L.L.

Cellularity · Environment · Lineage · Look for malignancy

Read any in-clinic slide in four passes — and know when it isn't diagnostic.

Everywhere

Species traps

Cats are not small dogs

Heinz bodies, mammary malignancy, injection-site sarcoma, hypertension blindness, lentigo in orange cats — flagged wherever they bite.

Interactive plates

Plates that answer back.

Tap a number to see what it marks. Hide the labels and test yourself. Each plate is an original medical illustration drawn to show the deciding feature — no stock photos, no AI fakes.

Lookalike duels

Two findings. One decision.

Each duel hides its tells until you ask. Try the blind test, reveal the deciding features, then answer the question a real case would ask.

Microscope lab

A microscope in your browser.

39 illustrated samples — ear swabs, skin scrapes, tape preps, aspirates, blood smears, urine sediment and faecal floats. Switch objectives, pull a fresh field, count organisms against published cut-offs, or let it quiz you.

8 modules, nose to slide.

Short lessons with the plates, duels and tools built in, and a three-question gate at the end of each one.

FAQ

Before you enrol.

Who is it for?

General-practice vets, veterinary nurses and technicians, new graduates and students — and anyone running teaching rounds. Module 1 starts from the normal exam; later modules go deep enough for experienced clinicians.

Are the plates photographs?

No — and that's deliberate. Every plate is an original GlobalVet medical illustration, drawn so the deciding feature is visible and consistent from plate to plate. Real patients vary; the atlas teaches you what to look for. The Library bundle adds photo-rich reference textbooks.

Does it cover dogs and cats?

Yes, side by side, with the feline traps called out wherever cats behave differently.

Can I use it during a consult?

Yes. It works on phone, tablet and desktop. The body maps, lump mapper and dental chart save to your device and print cleanly for the record.

Does it replace a diagnosis?

No. It's a visual reference and training tool. Cytology and appearance can suggest; histopathology, the full work-up and specialist referral confirm. Clinical decisions stay yours.

Is it CE-accredited?

No. It's an educational programme with self-assessment. We don't claim RACE or other accreditation.

How do I get access?

Pay on globalvetco.com. Your access code arrives by email (and as your order's tracking number); enter it on the checkout page and everything unlocks on that device. Lost it? Reply to the email.
